Natalie Brogan
U.K born Mancunian Natalie Brogan has a career that could rival a dj with a lot more experience, yet she has been on the scene for just three years!
Step forward this young DJ, every wannabe-alpha-male's worst nightmare, head-turning looks coupled with effortless style and people skills par excellence, she'll quite happily lad it up with the lads on a night out (including if she'd just met them) and will still look better than you getting into that taxi home at 6am. Home? We meant after-party.
How she got into DJ'ing is just one of several clues that she can, and will, succeed where many of her gender gave up: her parents had bought her younger brother some 'kiddy decks' (as she called them, even then fully aware of the difference between 1210's and non-1210's), but guess who ended up spending the most time on them, pretending they were playing to their first crowd?
Not long after, her brother was asked to play at a friend's party, but declined due to lack of confidence. Guess who said "I'll do it", loved every second, and then saved up for her own decks?
Influenced heavily by her father and his favourite bands, such as Massive Attack & Bowie Natalie was drawn to the edges of the music scene, trying her hand as a DJ from a very early age.
Frustrated by the gigs available Natalie went looking for something she truly cared about.
In 2006 Natalie, met David Dunne from Hedkandi who persuaded her to hone her fledgling talent at the Manchester Midi School.
Natalie was soon seduced by the Manchester club scene, which loved her back and she has taken her place alongside A Listers such as Oliver Lang, The Hoxton Whores and Copyright (Defected)
In May 2009 Natalie quit her day job and made her way to clubbing mecca Ibiza where she carried out a season spinning for the likes of Pukka Up boat/pre parties as well as events at Eden & Es Paradis.
This followed with a residency in Abu Dhabi for a brand new bar based at the 5* Fairmont hotel and after 9 months there, interviews with OK Magazine, Infusion and Time Out Abu Dhabi she landed a residency at one of Dubai's best nightclubs-Alpha and more recently has landed her dream gig, Creamfields Abu Dhabi, which takes place on the 9th of December where she will join the mainstage with the likes of David Guetta & Afrojack and other world class DJs such as Zabiela, Above& Beyond, Sasha, Sander Van Doorn & Gareth Emery.
Which led her to a nomination in the 2011 Time Out Dubai Nightlife Awards for Dubai's best local DJ.
With both Creamfields and the Time Out nomination she is proud to say she was the only female DJ listed in both, something of a big achievement for her.
This follows a weekly radio show on www.manchesterglobal.co.uk with a line-up of guests that could be mistaken for Pete Tongs radio show, being voted 37th best dj in the Middle East after just 1 month. And warming up for the likes of Danism, Dave Haslam, The Soul Avengerz, e'SQUIRE and K-Klass.
Fast becoming a DJ in demand she is young, energetic, exciting and very clued up on what gets a crowd moving with a fan base rapidly climbing.
Truly a meteoric rise for a DJ that has only been in the industry for 3 years.
You'll be hearing a lot more from Brogan over the next few months!
