Jay also known as “Espace Privé” was born on the tropical island of Mauritius. After hearing a remix of Mission Impossible soundtrack at the age of 16, Espace Prive knew that electronic music was going to be his future.

Influenced by the 3 decks wizard, Mr. Carl Cox, he started listening to the beauty of acid house & tech house which Carl used to deliver in his Love Parade / Essential Mix session. At the age of 17, Espace Prive got his first pair of turntables Gemini XL500 MKII where he started to learn the art of mixing.

In 2007, Espace Prive joined a school of DJ to refine his skills and get to know more about the techniques. Having one of the best DJ / Producer on the island as mentor, Espace Prive followed an intense course of 3 months resulting first in the final exam of a 15 minutes show in front the juries. Afterwards, event creators started contacting him to play in different clubs around the island making the name Espace Prive to rise in the club scene.
In 2008, he played in the VIP lounge for the international DJ, Ian Carey, mixing the finest of soulful house music. Today, Espace Prive is working hard on a new level…production. Hopefully the upcoming years will be successful.

What do you love and hate about Dubai?

Being able to get myself a BigMac at 3 in the morning is definitely something I like about here. On the other hand, I don’t hate Dubai. I just miss my home beaches and my local beer :)

Where do you like clubbing in Dubai?

Top 1 choice is 360 Bar, Audiotonic does great jobs there by bringing quality artists like Robert Babicz, Francois Dubois, Sebastien Leger just to name a few. I would say also Zuma Bar because of its nice atmosphere and of the music. Hail to Deep house!

What is your plan for a future and where do you want to be in 5 years’ time?

I’m spending my free time on music production and in 5 years’ time I wish to hear DJs play my track in venues.
