A quick word with... Suzee X

She was last seen destroying the Atlantis pool party last summer, and now UK - but recently based in Doha - DJ Suzee X is back at the Atlantis hotel to play N'Dulge this Thursday...

You're a regular Middle East visitor - why do you think you keep getting asked back? 

I have a lot of good support here which I'm very grateful of and I'm hoping it's because they like what I do?!

You've had a residency at Lava in Doha recently - what's been the one track you can drop in every set?

Dare I say it but yes of course Avicii's Levels in its various forms is still hanging in there - although I am trying to convert them all to Avicii's new track 'Silhouettes' with its awesome vocal!

And what advice would you give to DJs looking for a residency? 

Well what I've learnt from having a solid residency is that you really have to adapt and take yourself out of the picture.  Grinning and bearing having to play the crowds favourites set in set out (not naming any names - see before - hahah!)  and keeping the regulars happy is of course the utmost importance if that's the place you want to stay!  So choose your venue wisely. I've been lucky enough at Lava to have been given the free reign with one of my nights so I drip feed them with the music I really admire and drop in the fresher tracks and sounds carefully and most of the time I'm pleased to say it works!

You've been working on a new experimental music project - what can you tell us about that?

It's in its early stages but I'm very excited about it. All I'm gonna say is I'm gonna probably feel less lonely when touring now!

How have you coped with not being at the Ibiza opening parties, are you heading there later in the year? 

One of the ways of coping is don't go on Facebook or Twitter too much, it pulls on my heart strings a lot - especially when everyday I'm getting calls from friends on the Island saying I should be there! But yes - hopefully sometime in Ramadan I will be there.
