British stand-up comedian Jason Manford is one of the most popular acts on the UK comedy circuit. Known for his relatable stories and quick wit, Manford has performed all over the world and has been a regular guest on many of the UK’s top comedy shows.
Having been inspired by the likes of Peter Kay and Eddie Izzard, Manford began performing and became the 1999 North West City Life’s Comedian of the Year and the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year. The awards kept coming for the comedian, winning the 2005 Writers Guild of Great Britain’s Best Comedy Newcomer award for his Urban Legend show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He also won Chortle’s Best Breakthrough Act award in 2006.
Manford quickly found himself on television, appearing on ‘Live at the Apollo’ and ‘8 Out of 10 Cats’, where he became a team captain in 2007. He continued to appear on numerous shows, including ‘QI’ and ‘A Question of Sport: Super Saturday’. Manford later moved into presenting, hosting a number of shows including ‘Odd One In’, ‘Sunday Night at the Palladium’ and, most recently, ‘Bigheads’.
