American singer and producer Robin Thicke is one of the most well-known names in pop music right now. With a career that has spanned across 3 decades, Thicke has worked with many of the industry’s top names and had numerous successes with his own recordings and live performances across the globe.
The son of actors Gloria Loring and Alan Thicke, Robin was born into an artistic family. He began singing and recording music at a young age and he began working with the likes of Brian McKnight and Jimmy Lovine, releasing his first track at 16 years old on Interscope Records.
In 2003 Thicke released his debut album ‘A Beautiful World’, but it was his second album ‘The Evolution of Robin Thicke’ in 2006 that put him on the map, reaching number 5 in the US Album Charts and being certified Platinum by the RIAA. Thicke then released two subsequent albums, but it was the third, ‘Blurred Lines’, that has been widely regarded as Thicke’s greatest work to date.
The Blurred Lines album topped the charts in the US, Canada and the UK, amongst other countries. The title track from the album, featuring T.I. and Pharrell, became one of the biggest tracks of the year, topping charts across the globe and being certified Platinum multiple times over. Thicke followed up the Blurred Lines album with another album, Paula, in 2014, which peaked at number 9 in the US.
As an artist, Thicke has been recognised for his work at numerous awards ceremonies, receiving 4 Grammy and American Music Award nominations and winning Top R&B Song at the Billboard Music Awards and Song of the Year at the Soul Train Music Awards as well as many others.
