You know you’re doing something very very right when your music gets streamed over a million times a month and you’ve been invited to drop his mixes on radio shows from industry icons like Tiesto and Diplo. It’s been a whirlwind ride for Russian star Shapov since he embarked on his solo career in 2015. Quickly picked up by Axwell’s Axtone label, he released a string of EPs and singles in 2016 that marked him out as a serious dance music talent, combining classic house music motifs with forward thinking rhythms and melodies, notably on his breakthrough track with Axwell, ‘Believe.’ With gigs at EDM hotspots like Tomorrowland and Ushuaia as well as a recent tour of Asia, Shapov has been winning fans with each ticket sold and has a treasure trove of unreleased music he’s yet to unleash on clubs and festivals across the world. With recent remixes for Camelphat and Afrojack getting picked up by the A-list DJs for their sets, 2017 is set to be his year with a rumoured collaboration with Martin Garrix likely to be the early highlight.
