French DJ and house music producer Bob Sinclair has consistently proven himself as one of the industry’s most formidable names when it comes to producing hit tracks. With a career that spans across 4 decades, Sinclair is still one of the most in demand names for shows and festivals around the world.
Born Christophe Le Friant in France he was influenced by the music around him from a young age. Whilst listening to the relatively new genre, back then, of hip-hop, and more classical elements from the jazz world he collaborated with other musicians in bands The Mighty Bop and Reminiscence Quartet.
It wasn’t until 1998 when he adopted the moniker Bob Sinclair that he established himself as one of the pioneers of French house music alongside Daft Punk, Modjo and many more. He worked using samples of disco music to create very peaceful, loving, yet funky house tracks that culminated in some of his most well-known records.
With 9 albums under his discography, Bob Sinclair’s international hits include Love Generation, which reached No. 1 in a numerous countries including Australia, Belgium and the US Dance chart; and World, Hold On in 2007, which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording through E-Smoove’s remix, and also reached the top spot in the US Dance chart.
Bob Sinclair has also had success with his record label, Yellow Productions, which has seen some of dance music’s hottest names pass through, including Dimitri from Paris, Kid Loco and Michael Calfan.As a performer, Sinclair continues to impress crowds of several thousand people across the world, and he has headlined some of the world’s biggest festival line-ups including Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival and Coachella.
