As part of an exciting agrotourism initiative, farms across the UAE are now opening their doors to visitors<\/strong>, inviting residents and tourists to explore the country\u2019s diverse and innovative agricultural landscape. This new program, created by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCAE)<\/a>, aims to foster awareness about local food production<\/strong>, promote sustainable practices, and generate widespread support for the UAE’s farming community.<\/p>\n

This agrotourism push is planned to reach all seven emirates, working in close coordination with local authorities and farm owners. In addition, it will play a central role in the “World’s Coolest Winter” campaign this year, which has been rebranded under the theme “Green Tourism.” Visitors will have the opportunity to explore farms across the UAE<\/strong>, witnessing firsthand the sustainable and resilient methods used to cultivate crops such as strawberries, wheat, saffron, and more.<\/p>\n

Despite the desert climate, the UAE\u2019s farms have become thriving oases, using advanced techniques to grow a wide range of produce. For instance, Ahmed Alhafiti, an Emirati farmer<\/strong>, shared that his Wadi Difta Plantation in Fujairah<\/strong> \u2014 a compact 200 square meters \u2014 has become a popular destination. Known for growing cashews, pistachios, jackfruit, and an array of spices<\/strong>, his farm has seen significant interest from tourism companies who are eager to bring visitors to learn more about sustainable farming in the Emirates.<\/p>\n
