Over the past year, 216,500 new trees<\/strong> were planted across the emirate<\/strong>, averaging about 600 trees a day! Dubai Municipality announced this incredible milestone on January 27, 2025<\/strong><\/a>, revealing a 17% increase in tree planting compared to 2023.<\/p>\n

The city has added 3.9 million square meters of new green spaces<\/strong>, giving residents and visitors more parks, recreational areas, and leafy urban corners to enjoy. Indigenous species like Ghaf, Sidr, and Samar<\/strong> are being prioritized, alongside ornamental varieties such as neem, olive, Indian jasmine<\/strong>, and several types of palms. Even evergreen species<\/strong> like Washingtonia, Poinciana, and Bismarckia are now dotting the cityscape, ensuring that Dubai\u2019s greenery thrives year-round.<\/p>\n

Since 2011, green spaces in Dubai have more than doubled<\/strong>, exceeding 52 million square meters<\/strong> by the end of 2024. The Municipality\u2019s beautification projects are hard to miss. These efforts have turned once-ordinary spaces into lush, inviting areas for residents and tourists.<\/p>\n

One standout project last November<\/strong> saw 6,500 trees and 2.5 million flowers planted<\/strong> along Dubai\u2019s major roads, giving commuters a greener, more pleasant journey.<\/p>\n
