By 2026, the system will be completely upgraded, <strong>introducing digital payments, smartphone integration, and new fare options<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rta.ae\/wps\/portal\/rta\/ae\/home\/news-and-media\/all-news\/NewsDetails\/rta-completes-40-of-nol-digital-payment-system-upgrade-with-account-based-ticketing-for-dubai-public-transport\">completed 40% of the project<\/a>, which is being rolled out in three phases with a total investment of AED 550 million.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"western\"><strong>What\u2019s Changing <\/strong><strong>in Dubai\u2019s nol card<\/strong><strong>?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The biggest shift is moving from the current card-based ticketing system to an account-based model. The entire <strong>upgrade is expected to be completed by the end of 2026<\/strong>.
