Sharjah\u2019s well-known Safeer Mall is getting a new name and a major upgrade<\/strong>. Now under the temporary name “Mark & Save Mall,” the shopping center is expected to reopen in 2026<\/strong> after a complete makeover.<\/p>\n

Western International Group (WIG)<\/a>, which recently took over the property from the Safeer Group, announced that the renovation will take about 18 months<\/strong>. During this time, the building will be brought up to modern standards, both inside and out, and all work will follow the latest safety and government guidelines.<\/p>\n

The mall, originally opened in 2005, will not be torn down completely, but much of it will be rebuilt. \u201cWe\u2019re not doing a full demolition, but a big part of the interior and infrastructure will be redone,\u201d<\/strong> explained Nawas Basheer KP, Chairman at Western International Group.<\/p>\n

Right now, the group is still finishing the paperwork and getting final permits from local authorities. Once construction officially starts, they plan to share more updates on the timeline. \u201cOur goal is to offer a high-quality experience, without unnecessary delays,\u201d Basheer added.<\/p>\n

At the moment, nine stores are still operating inside the mall<\/strong>. Some shop owners have been concerned about what\u2019s next amidst the news about permanent closure<\/a>. Basheer said they understand the situation and are working to support current tenants during the transition.<\/p>\n

However, due to the scale of the renovation, some shops will need to move out temporarily<\/strong>. Eviction notices have already been sent out, and the group confirmed that all legal and regulatory steps have been followed. So far, over AED 1 billion has been invested in the project.<\/p>\n

Once it reopens, the revamped mall will offer much more than before. Plans include Sharjah\u2019s biggest indoor family play area, a fully equipped gym, a wide range of food options, and a new retail hypermarket<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
