This move is part of a big push to use more clean energy and help improve the city\u2019s air quality.<\/p>\n<p>The new system will generate about 32 million kilowatt-hours of electricity each year. That\u2019s <strong>enough to cut down roughly 10,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO\u2082) \u2014 the same amount you&#8217;d get from 2,000 cars<\/strong> on the road for a year. Or, if you think in trees, it\u2019s equal to what half a million trees would absorb in one year.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31152\" src=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/GoA3EaKWoAAm5BJ1-1024x512.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" srcset=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/GoA3EaKWoAAm5BJ1-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/GoA3EaKWoAAm5BJ1-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/GoA3EaKWoAAm5BJ1-768x384.jpg 768w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/GoA3EaKWoAAm5BJ1-1536x768.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/GoA3EaKWoAAm5BJ1-150x75.jpg 150w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/GoA3EaKWoAAm5BJ1.jpg 1864w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>solar panels are now working at the following RTA locations<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bus depots in Al Quoz, Al Khawaneej, and Al Rowaiyah<\/li>\n<li>Bus stations in Al Satwa and Oud Metha<\/li>\n<li>A maintenance workshop in Al Muhaisnah<\/li>\n<li>Several metro depots and other RTA buildings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This project fits into Dubai\u2019s bigger environmental plans, like the <a href=\"https:\/\/u.ae\/en\/about-the-uae\/strategies-initiatives-and-awards\/strategies-plans-and-visions\/environment-and-energy\/the-uae-net-zero-2050-strategy\"><strong>UAE\u2019s Net Zero 2050 strategy<\/strong><\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/u.ae\/en\/about-the-uae\/strategies-initiatives-and-awards\/strategies-plans-and-visions\/environment-and-energy\/dubai-clean-energy-strategy\"><strong>Dubai Clean Energy Strategy<\/strong><\/a>. By switching to solar power, RTA is not only saving energy but also helping to create a cleaner, greener Dubai.
