If you’re planning a trip to Makkah around Hajj time, there are some important updates you need to be aware of. Saudi Arabia has announced a strict new rule: only people with a valid Hajj permit or official permission to live or work in Makkah can stay in the city’s hotels during the pilgrimage season<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This decision kicks in from April 29, 2025 (Dhul-Qi’dah 1, 1446 AH) and lasts until Hajj ends<\/strong>. The aim of the temporary ban is to make sure pilgrims have a safe, organized experience without overcrowding.<\/p>\n

Who Can\u2019t Enter Makkah During Hajj 2025?<\/h3>\n

Saudi Arabia\u2019s Ministry of Interior is tightening access to the holy city. From April 23, if you’re a resident of Saudi Arabia and you don\u2019t have a Hajj permit or special permission, you won\u2019t be allowed into Makkah<\/strong>. Authorities will turn you back at checkpoints.<\/p>\n

      Umrah visitors must leave the country before April 29<\/strong>, and no new Umrah permits will be issued via the Nusuk<\/em> platform between April 29 and June 10.<\/p>\n

      Makkah Hotels: No Bookings Without Permits<\/h3>\n

      All hotels and other types of accommodation in Makkah<\/strong> are now officially barred from hosting guests who don\u2019t have the right documents<\/strong>. This includes anyone just visiting the city for sightseeing or general travel. The Ministry of Tourism has made it clear: hotels must follow the rules or face legal action.<\/p>\n
