The <\/span>Sharjah Executive Council (SEC)<\/span> has announced a decision to <\/strong><\/span>waive all traffic violations that are more than 10 years old<\/span><\/strong>, provided they meet certain conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

The announcement was made during a recent SEC meeting chaired by Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the Council.<\/p>\n

Who Qualifies for Traffic Fine Waiving?<\/h4>\n

According to the decision, traffic violations recorded by Sharjah Police will be dropped if:<\/p>\n

  • At least 10 years<\/strong> have passed since the date of the violation<\/li>\n
  • The fine has remained unpaid<\/strong> during that period<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    This applies to eligible cases only, as recorded by the Sharjah Police General Command. To apply for the waiver, there is a mandatory fee of AED 1,000.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Certain cases are exempt from this AED 1,000 fee:<\/p>\n

    • If the vehicle owner has passed away<\/strong>, with verified documentation<\/li>\n
    • If the vehicle owner has left the country continuously for at least 10 years<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • If the vehicle has been abandoned<\/strong> and the owner cannot be located<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
