The heliport will serve both traditional helicopters and electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, which are expected to power the future of air taxi services in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The location at the cruise terminal was selected because it receives a high volume of visitors \u2014 more than 650,000 a year \u2014 making it a practical starting point for this new type of urban air travel.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-32022\" src=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Nikhil-UAE-Group-Photo-vF-1024x512.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" srcset=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Nikhil-UAE-Group-Photo-vF-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Nikhil-UAE-Group-Photo-vF-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Nikhil-UAE-Group-Photo-vF-768x384.jpg 768w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Nikhil-UAE-Group-Photo-vF-1536x768.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Nikhil-UAE-Group-Photo-vF-150x75.jpg 150w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Nikhil-UAE-Group-Photo-vF.jpg 1546w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This project is being developed in partnership with AD Ports Group, Falcon Aviation Services, and U.S.-based Archer Aviation. The facility is seen as a step forward in creating infrastructure for short-range air mobility in the UAE. Test flights of the eVTOL flying taxis are expected to begin soon.<\/p>\n<p>Archer Aviation has announced that it <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/abu-dhabi-to-test-air-taxi-service-in-summer-2025-first-in-the-region\/\">plans to launch its &#8220;Midnight&#8221; aircraft in Abu Dhabi<\/a> later this year<\/strong>, in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Aviation (ADA).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The UAE has officially approved the design for its first hybrid heliport, set to open at Zayed Port\u2019s Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal.
