All<strong> businesses must offer customers a way to pay by<\/strong> <strong>card or mobile phone<\/strong>, under new regulations from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. The rule applies to every trade licence, including sole traders and companies with multiple branches.<\/p>\n<p>To comply with the new requirement, businesses must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Open <strong>one bank account in the business\u2019s name<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Register the account with the ministry\u2019s Sijilat system<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all customer payments are processed through that account<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-24982\" src=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/shutterstock_2235812423.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/shutterstock_2235812423.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/shutterstock_2235812423-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/shutterstock_2235812423-768x384.jpg 768w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/shutterstock_2235812423-150x75.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Using <strong>personal bank accounts<\/strong> <strong>for business transactions is now strictly prohibited<\/strong>. Any payment processed outside the registered account will be considered a legal violation.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry has outlined a <strong>range of penalties<\/strong> under Article 20 of the Commercial Registry Law:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First breach: <strong>up to BHD 1,000 in daily fines<\/strong> and a six-month freeze on the trade licence<\/li>\n<li>Second breach within three years: daily fines up to BHD 2,000<\/li>\n<li>Cumulative daily fines: up to BHD 50,000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Ministry of Industry and Commerce introduced this regulation to improve cash flow traceability, reduce online fraud risk, and encourage a cash-free economy.
