These regulations provide a clear framework to ensure that riders and pedestrians can share public spaces responsibly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>E-scooters are allowed<\/strong> in the following locations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Internal roads where speed limits do not exceed 40 km\/h<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paths shared by pedestrians and cyclists<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specific lanes created for bicycles and e-scooters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/shutterstock_2008340306.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-39449\" srcset=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/shutterstock_2008340306.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/shutterstock_2008340306-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/shutterstock_2008340306-768x384.jpg 768w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/shutterstock_2008340306-150x75.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, the <strong>DMT prohibits the use of e-scooters in areas<\/strong> where risks are higher:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Highways and roads with speed limits above 60 km\/h<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pedestrian-only walkways<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Safety remains a top priority. Riders are expected to <strong>wear helmets, follow marked routes, observe speed limits, and avoid moving against traffic<\/strong> or engaging in any activity that could put themselves or others at risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As residents adapt to these mobility options, it\u2019s also a good time to review other recent changes in the city, such as the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/changes-to-abu-dhabis-darb-toll-system-starting-september-2025\">updates to Abu Dhabi\u2019s DARB toll system<\/a><\/strong> introduced in September 2025.
