The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched a <strong>new project using drones to clean traffic signals<\/strong>. This innovation, started as a pilot phrase at the Marrakech Street-Rebat Street junction, already shows impressive results. In just three to four minutes, a drone can clean one side of a traffic signal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to RTA, this initiative offers several advantages over the conventional cleaning process:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>There&#8217;s no need for workers to climb traffic poles or use hazardous equipment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By minimizing the need for heavy machinery, such as manlifts, and reducing reliance on human labor, drones significantly <strong>cut down on operational costs<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drones need <strong>far less fuel and water<\/strong> compared to traditional cleaning equipment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cleaning <strong>won&#8217;t cause road closures<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/G8S4nQPWYAcjsnP-1024x512.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-49033\" srcset=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/G8S4nQPWYAcjsnP-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/G8S4nQPWYAcjsnP-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/G8S4nQPWYAcjsnP-768x384.jpg 768w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/G8S4nQPWYAcjsnP-1536x768.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/G8S4nQPWYAcjsnP-150x75.jpg 150w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/G8S4nQPWYAcjsnP.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the pilot phrase proves to be successful, this approach to traffic signals maintenance could be implemented citywide. Earlier this year, <strong>RTA also started <a href=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/rtas-new-project-in-dubai-metro-and-tram-stations-to-be-cleaned-by-drones\/\">using drones to clean Metro and Tram stations<\/a><\/strong>.
