The city has approved <strong>an extension of the Red Line<\/strong>, adding 5 more stations and stretching the route all the way to Diriyah Gate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new section will covers 8.4 km and link areas many people already move between daily: from university zones to business districts and cultural spots. Riyadh metro only launched in late 2024, and since then it\u2019s been adding new stations and polishing how things work. One of the latest changes is longer hours: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/riyadh-metro-changes-its-working-hours-now-opens-at-530-am-for-early-commuters\/\">trains now start running at 5:30 AM<\/a><\/strong>, which is a big win for early commuters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once this new extension on the Red Line opens, <strong>reaching Diriyah by metro should take less than 15 minutes<\/strong> from central stations.
