If you\u2019ve ever wandered through Alserkal Avenue during art week and wished it lasted longer, you\u2019re getting your wish this year. For five weekends, from April 18 to May 18<\/strong>, Al Quoz fills with exhibitions, talks, performances, and workshops over five weekends. Here\u2019s a first look at what\u2019s coming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

April 18: Opening weekend<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On the first weekend, 16 gallery exhibitions open at once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anthony Akinbola\u2019s solo exhibition at Carbon 12 opens on April 18 and remains on view until May 24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, a new public artwork by Shilpa Gupta Still A Sky We Hold<\/em> will appear in The Yard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

April 25 to May 8: D\u00e9j\u00e0 vu at Concrete<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This group exhibition featuring artists from 18 UAE-based galleries show looks at repetition and the feeling of reliving the same moments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May 12 to May 17: Closing programme with Art Dubai<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On May 16, Alserkal Advisory hosts a roundtable with arts organisations and institutions across the UAE, focusing on how arts spaces connect with communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moving<\/em>, a four-day programme created with Art Dubai, screens continuously in The Yard and at Madinat Jumeirah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the month: Workshops and takeovers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Blank Space introduces emerging creatives in design, craft, music, and visual arts through a series of takeovers. You\u2019ll also find workshops, reading groups, open studios, and live performances throughout the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
