According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/openknowledge.worldbank.org\/entities\/publication\/78a9d749-20a5-44e3-afd1-1d9d6dcbd581\"><em>Women, Business and the Law 2026<\/em> report<\/a> by the World Bank, the country now ranks <strong>10 places higher<\/strong>, with its score improving after recent legal changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of the progress comes from <strong>Labour Law No. 14 of 2025, which adds new protections and benefits for women in the workplace<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maternity leave is now four months<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Employers cannot fire someone during pregnancy or maternity leave<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Companies with 100 or more women must provide childcare through nurseries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Equal pay, promotions, and training apply to both men and women<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flexible work options are now part of the law<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/shutterstock_2267073535.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29228\" srcset=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/shutterstock_2267073535.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/shutterstock_2267073535-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/shutterstock_2267073535-768x384.jpg 768w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/shutterstock_2267073535-150x75.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Egypt is also preparing a new draft law to support women at work, which will regulate domestic work, with contracts and training planned to bring the sector into the formal economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The country is also working on a <strong>national plan to help more women find jobs, reduce unemployment, and support them starting their own businesses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With these changes in place, Egypt is becoming a more supportive place for women at work, with better protections, benefits, and opportunities.
