Quick ride outside the track? Happens. From May 1, that kind of riding will be watched more closely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Police are launching a Personal Mobility Monitoring Unit to <strong>track how e-scooters and bicycles are used<\/strong> in the city. The unit starts work<strong> on May 1, 2026<\/strong>, covering cycling tracks, major roads, and soft mobility zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Riders can be fined for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Not wearing a helmet or protective gear<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Riding outside designated tracks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exceeding speed limits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reckless riding<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Carrying passengers on electric scooters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/shutterstock_2008340306.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-39449\" srcset=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/shutterstock_2008340306.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/shutterstock_2008340306-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/shutterstock_2008340306-768x384.jpg 768w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/shutterstock_2008340306-150x75.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities will carry out <strong>more checks in busy areas of Dubai<\/strong> where riders and pedestrians share the space:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Jumeirah Beach Track<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dubai Water Canal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Business Bay<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dubai Marina<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Al Karama<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Al Muraqqabat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re wondering what actually changes, nothing if you\u2019ve been following the rules all along. Wear a helmet, stay within designated areas, follow speed limits, and ride solo on e-scooters. Authorities will start enforcing these rules from May 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And if you\u2019re already thinking beyond bikes and scooters, another mode of transport is on the way: flying taxis.
