Dubai Municipality has started <strong>planting thousands of new trees <\/strong>across the emirate, following a directive from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The flame tree, scientifically known as Delonix regia, is one of the most recognizable sights in Dubai. It handles local climate well and needs around 6-8 hours of direct sunlight each day. New plantings are being added in places people pass through every day, including residential streets, public parks, entertainment areas, busy intersections, and community majlises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ll start seeing more of them soon. A flame tree reaches the seedling stage in about three months. Once fully grown, a it reaches about 9 to 12 metres in height and spreads up to 15 metres wide. A <strong>mature flame tree can live for 40 to 60 years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dubai is also getting greener. Huge <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/central-park-opens-in-dubai-where-to-find-the-citys-new-green-space\/\">Central Park is now open inside the Wasl Gate community<\/a><\/strong>, and you can go check it out. Don\u2019t want to travel far for a park?
