A coffee, an ice cream stop, or even a fitness session could become part of your regular visit. Saudi Arabia is considering new rules that would <strong>allow a range of businesses and community services inside public parks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The size of the park would determine what can open there:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Parks of 1,200 sqm<\/strong>: caf\u00e9s, ice cream shops, fresh juice outlets, and flower retailers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Parks of 1,500 sqm<\/strong>: shops selling fresh and preserved fruit and vegetables<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Parks of 5,000 sqm<\/strong>: fitness centres, entertainment venues, childcare facilities, non-residential senior citizen centres, and day-care services for people with disabilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/G_LboXUXcAAspvz-1-1024x512.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-50900\" srcset=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/G_LboXUXcAAspvz-1-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/G_LboXUXcAAspvz-1-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/G_LboXUXcAAspvz-1-768x384.jpg 768w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/G_LboXUXcAAspvz-1-1536x768.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/G_LboXUXcAAspvz-1-150x75.jpg 150w, https:\/\/platinumlist.net\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/G_LboXUXcAAspvz-1.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you start imagining your local park turning into a retail hub, there are a few rules in the plans. Businesses would be limited to 25% of the park&#8217;s total area, and buildings could be no taller than two storeys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nearby homes would also have to be taken into account, and businesses won&#8217;t be allowed to overlook residential properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For now, the <strong>changes are still under discussion<\/strong>.
