Muddy Waters. The name brings with it the vision and sounds of modern Blues, be it the famous Chicago Blues or Delta Blues. An icon whose music influenced several other genres and timeless musicians such as B. B. King, Chuck Berry, Eric Clapton to name a few, was blessed to have had one of his sons to carry on his legacy.
Mud Morganfield, also known as Muddy Waters Jr was known to have had exceptional likeness to his father’s deep baritone voice and stage presence. Incidentally, it was not even until his father’s death that Mud even considered a professional career in music. Yet, while it would be natural for Mud to fill in Muddy’s shoes, he was quite firm to point out that that would never be his intention for there is no one like his legendary father and that his gigs were only an outlet for “all the blues that was in him”.
Despite having been busy from the 60s through to the 80s releasing several studio albums, Mud toured the world and still has concerts across the globe to this day. Seeing as the Blues is a genre that is so rare to catch live these days, especially by the original artistes themselves, his are surely be concerts that many would line up for.
