Indian actor Sonu Sood is an award-winning artist who has starred in numerous films in Hindi as well as appearances in Telugu and Tamil productions. Born in Punjab he made his debut in the film Kallazhagar in 1999 and has since featured in over 50 films.
In 2002, Sood starred in his first Hindi film, Shaheed-E-Azam, but he gained praise for his roles in the 2004 film Yuva and 2005’s Aashiq Banaya Aapne. Often cast in an antagonist role, Sood’s acting ability lead to him being nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor in Jodhaa Akbar in 2008 for his portrayal as Prince Sujamal.
Sood would eventually go on to win the Supporting Actor gong in 2009 for his performance in Arundhati. Continuing his typecast as a villain, he won the Aspara and IIFA Awards for Best Actor in a Negative Role in 2010’s Dabangg.
Sood continued to develop his career and filmography, performing in numerous movies, including 6 credits in 2016 alone. He gained further nominations for his performances in 2011’s Vishnuvardhana and 2012’s Julai.
