Indian singer, songwriter and composer Mika Singh has quickly risen into the limelight through the impressive Hindi and Punjabi discography that he has built over his 20-year career.
The youngest of six brothers, including the world-famous Daler Mehndi, Singh learned to play the tabla at just 8 years old, he had a passion for musical arts, learning instruments and composition styles along his journey.
Singh’s first album, Saawan Mein Leg Gayi Aag, was released in 1998 and received widespread acclaim. Singh followed this with Brandy in 2000, Gabru in 2001 and the hugely popular album Something Something in 2006.
Singh continued to release numerous successful albums and singles, also producing tracks for the Movie industry. In 2006 he sang on the movies Pyaar Ke Side Effects and Apna Sapna Money Money.
Singh’s career took a rapid rise in 2010, when his song Aapka Kya Hoga was featured in the film Housefull. The following year saw him produce multiple hit songs for movies, including Desi Beat, the Bodyguard and Aa Re Aa Re, Besharam. To date, Mika Singh’s biggest hits are Bas Ek King, Mauja Hi Mauja, Ibn-e-Batuta and Dhanno.
In 2014, Singh performed at The O2 Arena with Arjun Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and more, selling out the stadium. Singh’s career looks set to grow even further with more movie soundtracks and performances scheduled around the world.
