Born and raised in Tehran, singer, song-writer and producer, Shadmehr Aghili, is considered to be a significant cog in the Persian pop music scene from the late 80s. Working hard to keep his music true to Iranian roots,Shadmehr’s arrangement often included traditional Iranian musical instruments, most of which he learnt himself. Further to this, Shadmehr has had experience from the IRIB (Iran official radio & television broadcasting authority) and hence commands technical knowledge on broadcasting as well.
Since Shadmehr was proclaimed a child prodigy, it was no wonder he went on to study music, later entering a school of arts and even began composing for artistes in the area, all at a time when playing pop music was a sensitive matter in the country. With no further way to pursue his music that was bursting out the seams,Shadmehr decided Canada was to be his base from where his music would be released, unrestricted.Shadmehr’s name and fame thereafter knew no bounds, with albums, packed concerts and ticket-sales flowing in abundantly. Even to this day, a good 20 years after his first album released, Shadmehr has his World Tour confirmed, commencing in Los Angeles.
