Starting off as a singer, Fawad Khan had much to look forward to in life as he began singing in Lahore, Pakistan with rock band ‘Entity Paradigm’ when he was almost 20. While Khan had his heart set on music, acting opportunities came knocking on his door almost as soon as he set foot on stage.
Khan made his TV debut in ‘Jutt and Beyond’ in 2001 with more TV roles to follow, however it was only as late as 2007 that he landed his first movie role in ‘Khuda Kay Liye’ that was said to be Pakistan’s most commercially successful movie that year. While offers kept pouring in, strangely none took off until Khan was approached from India for a lead-role in a Hindi movie, “Khoobsurat”, in 2014. Khan was now being wooed by leading directors in Bollywood, especially since his performance got him ‘Best Debut’ awards and was recognized by critics alike. He was soon cast in a few more Indian movies that were also well received and hence became a household name across the border.
Khan, born in Karachi, grew up in various parts of Europe and Middle East due to his father’s job requirement, until he moved to Lahore where he completed his education and university.
