British rock band the Stereophonics are one of the most famous alternative rock bands in recent times. With chart topping successes, sell-out concerts and millions of record sales worldwide the Stereophonics have established themselves as one of the top acts in the business.

Formed in the late 1980s the band began performing in local clubs around 1992. Through their unique performance style, they became highly-demanded by a number of record labels, eventually signing with V2 in 1996. The band released their debut album a year later titled ‘Word Gets Around’. The album peaked at Number 6 in the UK and the Stereophonics received a BRIT Award for Best New Group.

Their next album, Performances and Cocktails, topped the UK Albums Chart, a feat they did a further five times: 2001’s ‘Just Enough Education to Perform’, 2003’s ‘You Gotta Go There to Come Back’, ‘Language. Sex. Violence. Other?’ In 2005 and ‘Pull the Pin’ 2007 and ‘Keep the Village Alive’ most recently in 2015.

The Stereophonics’ most successful tracks, earning them a large part of their mainstream success include ‘Handbags and Gladrags’, Madame Helga’ and ‘Dakota’ which topped the charts in the UK in 2005, going Platinum in the process.

Throughout their illustrious and award-winning career the Stereophonics have performed all over the world at some of the largest festivals including headline slots at Reading and Leeds, Glastonbury and V Festival.
