British singer Rita Ora is one of the leading pop talents in the UK having topped charts around the world, sold millions of singles and won numerous awards in the process. Having burst onto the scene in 2007, Ora has garnered a large fan base through her catchy hits, liver performances and her appearances as a judge and coach on both The Voice UK and The X Factor.
Born in present day Kosovo, Ora quickly fell in love with the musical arts, singing at an early age she was able to pursue a career in music in London, making her debut on Craig David’s ‘Awkward’ in 2007. She continued to collaborate with upcoming artists and performed across the UK.
It was in 2012 that Ora broke through into the mainstream UK scene with DJ Fresh’s ‘Hot Right Now’, on which she featured. The track became an instant hit, topping the UK chart and charting across Europe. It was certified Platinum and saw her win the Best Newcomer Award at the MOBO Awards.
Ora continued her success, topping the charts twice more in 2012 with ‘How We Do (Party)’ and ‘R.I.P.’ with Tine Tempah. Both tracks charted around the world and went on to be certified Gold and Platinum.
2014 was another big year for the singer, with Ora topping the UK charts again with ‘I Will Never Let You Down’, as well as reaching Number 4 with ‘Black Widow’ with Iggy Azalea. The track, formed part of Azalea’s debut album, ‘The New Classic’ and sold over 4 million copies in the US peaking at Number 3 in the charts.
