Shafqat Amanat Ali is one of the leading names in Pakistani classical music. Having burst onto the scene in the early 2000s, Ali’s voice has become one of the most adored in Pakistani music, seeing him contribute soundtracks to numerous films and shows, earning him numerous awards along the way.

Born into a musical family, Ali’s older brother was the legendary Pakistani singer Asad Amanat Ali Khan. Determined to follow in his footsteps, Ali began recording his singing, releasing songs such as ‘Khamaj and ‘Mitwa, which was featured on the 2006 Bollywood film ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’.

The film credits continued to come for Ali, seeing him sing on ‘Dor’, ‘Mumbai Cutting’ and ‘Hello’ as well as two singles on ‘Hyderabad Blues 2’, which were critically acclaimed.

Ali released his debut album, ‘Tabeer’, in 2008, which was produced by Shani Haider. The album was well received and earnt him significant airplay. He has since released two further albums, ‘Kyun Dooriyaan’ in 2010 and ‘Muh Dikhai’ in 2015.

2012 was a big year for the singer, seeing his contribution to ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ and the Bollywood blockbuster ‘Ra.One’ earn him numerous nominations, including two Filmfare Awards for Best Male Playback Singer.
