Duke Dumont’s “Need U 100%” is a track that’s remembered by most UK clubbers. It was also a track to take UK House music into the top spot on the charts after a decade or so, as pop-music had saturated the airwaves in such a massive way. This pushed several other producers to get out there and release many ‘much awaited’ tracks to bring House, EDM and Dance music back into mainstream record-sales. Dumont also owns record label Blasé Boys Club.
Dumont, formally known as Adam George Dyment from Harrow England, started his career with remixes of pop-songs. One of UK’s foremost DJ producers, “Switch”, was Dumont’s mentor. In addition to these, Dumont had also made his name through the “For Club Play Only” EP series which carried him all over the underground network. But aside from clubs, Dumont pays attention to detail when it comes to festival gigs whereby he ensures there is some level of intimacy within all the headiness. Highly influenced by the style and craft of Daft Punk and Chemical Brothers, Dumont’s production does not fail to please – be it the show or his material.
