Falguni Pathak, or “Queen of Dandiya” as she’s fondly referred to, is an Indian singer and composer. Predominantly singing Gujarati folk and traditional songs, Pathak is the most sought-after singer for the festival of ‘Navratri’ (‘festival of nine nights’) in Mumbai. Also garnering popularity in Gujarat, the US & UAE. Her demand is especially high due to her energy and mixes of Bollywood, indi-pop and traditional music into the Gujarati folk melodies, that are much anticipated at festivals which are usually attended by 50,000 families, per night. Aside from Navratri nights, Pathak keeps busy performing shows around the world for private events and public concerts.
Born, raised and based in Mumbai, Pathak claims her entry into singing was by chance and not something she had initially aspired to get into, despite an innate love for singing. However upon starting to participate at town events, she soon caught the bug and went on to gain popularity with her band Tha Thaiya. She has currently over 8 well-received Pop albums, most of which carry the infectious ‘dandiya’ flavor.
