Pink, born in Pennsylvania in 1979 as Alecia Beth Moore, is an American singer, songwriter, dancer and actress. Pink developed an interest in music at a young age, joining her first band and performing in clubs in high school, at age 14. It was around then that she gave herself the stage name Pink, after the character Mr. Pink in Quentin Tarantino’s film Reservoir Dogs.

Pink got her big break in 1995 when her band Choice was signed on by record label LaFace Records. The band split in 1998 after Pink was offered a solo deal and the musician has seen much success since. She released her first album ‘Can’t Take Me Home’ in 2000, which included ‘Most Girls’ and ‘There You Go’ which featured among the top ten in the Billboard Hot 100. Her second album Missundaztood sold 15 million copies worldwide, resulting from hits ‘Don’t Let Me Get Me’, ‘Get the Party Started’, ‘Family Portrait’ and ‘Just Like a Pill’. Pink’s following albums ‘Try This’ in 2003, ‘I’m Not Dead’ in 2006, ‘Funhouse’ in 2008 and ‘The Truth About Love’ in 2012 were all successful, placing her on the global pop-rock map.

Pink has released six studio albums, three live albums, five compilation albums and 34 singles to date; she has sold over 84 million singles and 47 million albums worldwide
