Indian singer Asha Bhosle is one of the foremost names in Bollywood and Indian music. With a career that spans across eight decades, Bhosle has earned praise for her versatility and vocal talents, forming parts of the soundtracks of numerous Bollywood films and becoming recognised as the World’s Most Recorded Artist in Music History.
Since her film debut in 1943, Bhosle has recorded music in countless films, picking up over 50 official accolades including nine Filmfare Awards, including a 2001 Lifetime Achievement Award, and a Padma Vibhushan award from the Government of India.
Bhosle has sung in over 20 languages and has had her voice featured on a range of styles including pop, traditional Indian classical music, folk songs and Rabindra Sangeets.
