As the creator of the Global Leadership Summit and founder & senior pastor of Willow Creek Community Church, one of North America’s most attended churches, Bill Hybels is a key speaker and influencer in shaping the future of tomorrow.
Having graduated from Trinity International University with a degree in Biblical Studies, Hybels made moves to create and build communities based around youth activities and Bible studies. With initial successes in growing these communities, he held the first service at Willow Creek Theatre in 1975. Since then the church has grown year-on-year and now welcomes over 24,000 people every week.
Along with the unprecedented success of the Willow Creek Community Church, Hybels set up the Willow Creek Association in order to form bonds between link-minded churches in order to develop greater strategy and resource pools with which to train, share and contribute to the community. The Association now includes more than 7,000+ churches from 90+ denominations in 90 countries around the world.
One of Hybels greatest contributions came in 1995 when he started the Global Leadership Summit, which was originally an annual training event for church-goers and ministers to develop their skills. Since then it has adapted and grown into a live video Summit that is hotly anticipated on the yearly calendar and has attracted more than 122,000 leaders in a single year. Broadcasted from Willow’s campus it reaches 125 countries and 59 languages and has addressed many key issues in the modern world.
