Comprised of Rinze ‘Ray’ Hofstee and Joep ‘Jim’ Smeele, Sick Individuals started making music together in 2010 after they bonded on a music composition course. With a shared love of classical and modern music, and having both composed music for TV commercials, the house and EDM duo quickly made their mark on the dance music world, snapping up remixes for Rihanna, David Guetta and Avicii. But it was their pop-friendly remix of Swedish duo Icona Pop’s viral hit ‘I Love It’ which gained them real traction, getting them airplay across the world and leading to dozens of gigs each year across the world.
Further success came quickly as they were signed to Armada Music and Revealed Recordings. Blessed with a prodigious work ethic, the duo have released well over 100 original tracks and remixes in just a few years. That’s led to a hectic gig schedule, with dates in Japan, America, Croatia and Dubai in recent months, while they’re virtual ever-presents on festival lines ups, having notched up ticket stubs to Ultra, Tomorrowland, Sensation and Creamfields. With their work ethic showing no sign of slowing down, and with more big releases lined up for 2017, Ray and Jim AKA Sick Individuals look set to break even further into the dance music mainstream.
