Techno DJ and producer Moodymann is known around the world as one of the longest running, most established artists and owner of KDJ Records. With a career that has spanned over 25 years, Moodymann has firmly cemented his name as one of the pioneers of his genre.
Moodymann’s debut album, Silenintroduction, was released on Planet E Communications in 1997 and was followed a year later by Mahogany Brown. The turn of the Century saw Moodymann continue to bolster his discography with Forevernevermore in 2000, Silence in the Secret Garden in 2003, and Parts I and II of Black Mahogani, both in 2004.
He continued to release albums, each one adding to his impressive set list and gaining him more and more fans around the world. 2008 saw the release of Det.riot ’67, Anotha Black Sunday in 2009, Picture This in 2012 and ABCD in 2013.
His most recent album, titled Moodymann, came out in 2014 and was critically acclaimed, reaching 83% on Metacritic and 4.5 out of 5 on Resident Advisor. The album also reached 7th place on Rolling Stone’s 20 Best EDM, Electronic and Dance Albums of 2014.
Aside from an incredible array of albums, Moodymann has also added countless singles and several EPs to his name. 2011 saw his track Dem Young Sconies recognised by NPR as one of the ten tracks that define Detroit techno.
