American singer-songwriter Justin Timberlake is one of the leading names in pop music today. Having started his career with NSYNC, which went on to become one of the best-selling boy-bands of all time, Timberlake ventured into a solo career which has seen him sell millions of records, win numerous awards and perform to sell-out crowds across the globe.
Timberlake’s singing career first began as a member of the boy-band NSYNC. With the group, he sold over 70 million albums; performed around the world, including notable performances at the World Series, Super Bowl and Olympic Games; recorded with the likes of Michael Jackson, Elton John, Stevie Wonder and many more and earnt eight Grammy Award nominations.
Following the group’s split at the turn of the Century, Timberlake embarked on a solo career, releasing his debut album ‘Justified’ in 2002 and following it up with the albums ‘FutureSex/LoveSounds’ in 2006 and ‘The 20/20 Experience’ in 2013. The albums went on to top the UK and US Charts, selling over 6 million copies each and being certified multiple times Platinum.
As a singles artist, Timberlake has become known for tracks such as ‘Cry Me a River’, ‘SexyBack’, ‘My Love’, ‘Suit & Tie’ and ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’. He has also been featured alongside Madonna in their chart-topping hit ‘4 Minutes’, Timbaland and Nelly Furtado on ‘Give It to Me’ and T.I. on ‘Dead and Gone’.
Timberlake has been formally recognized a number of times, winning numerous accolades including 10 Grammy Awards out of 38 nominations, seven Billboard Music Awards, seven American Music Awards and 4 Emmy Awards for his work on Saturday Night Live.
More recently, Timberlake has branched out into acting, taking on roles in box-office successes including ‘The Social Network’, ‘Bad Teacher’ and ‘Friends with Benefits’ alongside Mila Kunis.
