American progressive rock band Dream Theater have become known across the globe as one of the leading acts in their genre. Having been on the scene since 1985, the band have toured the world, released numerous charting albums and won several accolades along the way.
The band have released an impressive thirteen studio albums since their formation, with their most recent titles charting highly in the US and around the world. Their 2009 album, ‘Black Clouds & Silver Linings’ reached number 6 in the US billboard chart and entered the top ten in several other countries. Dream Theater continued this success with their subsequent albums ‘A Dramatic Turn of Events’, ‘Dream Theater’ and 2016’s ‘The Astonishing’.
The band have also been formally recognised a number of times by top publications such as Guitar World, Classic Rock and Rolling Stone, who placed Dream Theater on the list of ‘The Best Prog Rock Bands of All Time’. Their single ‘On the Backs of Angels’ also earnt the band a Grammy nomination in 2011.
