Planning a summer trip to Italy? There’s a new direct option from the UAE that makes Rome a lot easier to reach. Air Arabia has announced a new route from Sharjah to Rome, adding a daily non-stop flight between Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) and Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO). The service starts on July 1, just in time for summer travel.
The new Air Arabia flight to Italy will be operated by an Airbus A320neo, with two different departure schedules depending on the day you travel.
- On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays: flight departs Sharjah (SHJ) at 7:55 AM and arrives in Rome (FCO) at 12:35 PM local time. The return flight leaves Rome at 1:35 PM and lands back in Sharjah at 9:40 PM
- On Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays: flights leave Sharjah at 4:20 PM and reach Rome at 9 PM. The return leg departs FCO at 10 PM and arrives in SHJ at 6:05 AM the following day

Few places in the world combine ancient ruins, Renaissance art, and everyday city life the way Rome does. One minute you’re standing in front of the Colosseum, the next you’re squeezing into a small trattoria for fresh pasta and espresso. From the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps to Piazza Navona and the Vatican Museums, every corner feels familiar even if it’s your first time there.
Tickets are already available, so if Italy has been on your list for summer, it’s worth checking the flight options now.
And if you’re eyeing Europe as your next destination, you’ll be pleased to know that Air Arabia also flies to Munich in Germany, Prague in the Czech Republic, London Gatwick in the UK, and Warsaw in Poland. If you’re mapping out your next trip, you might want to explore those routes too.
