There’s a new app in the UAE, and if you enjoy a good deal, it’s worth knowing about.
Peekabox lets you pick up surprise boxes from restaurants, cafés, bakeries, grocery stores, and even hotel buffets for 50% to 70% less than the usual price. The catch? You won’t know exactly what’s inside until you collect it.
At the end of the day, cafés, bakeries, supermarkets, restaurants, and hotels pack fresh unsold food into surprise boxes. One day it could be pastries from a bakery, another day it might be sushi, prepared meals, coffee shop favourites, grocery items, or food from a hotel buffet.
Some brands available on Peekabox include:
- Supermarkets: Al Maya, Union Co-op, Choithrams, Carrefour
- Cafés and coffee shops: Costa Coffee, Tim Hortons, Peet’s Coffee, Pret A Manger, Armani Cafe
- Bakeries and dessert spots: Paul, Cinnabon, Krispy Kreme, Dunkin’, Ladurée
Users can pick a surprise box from a participating brand, pay through the app, and collect it during the pickup window (usually between 6 PM and 11 PM).
You can use Peekabox anywhere in the UAE, but the list of available outlets will look different depending on your location.
Grocery boxes start from AED 15, and prices for most surprise boxes begin at AED 30.
The app was founded by Dubai-raised brothers Hasan and Omair Sarwar, and already delivered 5,000 boxes within two weeks of launch. If you want to give it a try, download Peekabox for iOS or Android.
