The red carpet is rolling out in Salalah once again this September. Dhofar International Theatre Festival is coming back for nine days of outstanding performances.
The festival will take place from September 14 to 22, 2026, following a successful first edition.
Visitors can expect award-winning productions, performances by local artists, and plenty of red carpet moments. The programme includes productions from different countries and a variety of styles.
The programme will be divided into three categories:
- Elite Productions with award-winning Arab and international theatre performances; plus standout productions from the festival’s first edition
- Major Productions: an international competition
- Dhofar Theatre: performances by local artists and theatre creators
While you may have plenty of plans for the summer, it’s truly worth saving a spot on your calendar for Dhofar International Theatre Festival. And if you’re feeling a bit like Hamlet asking “to be or not to be”, this event definitely belongs in the “to be” category.
