Starting July 1 through August 22, 2025, Ajman will roll out summer work policy aimed at easing conditions for government employees during the hottest months of the year. The decision introduces remote work on Fridays and shortened working hours during the week.
Public sector employees will now follow this updated schedule:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM
- Friday: Remote work for all staff

While the new working model eases the standard office routine, it also emphasises the uninterrupted delivery of essential services. Government departments have been asked to apply flexible internal arrangements to make sure services continue smoothly.
The initiative, approved by the Ajman Executive Council and led by Crown Prince Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, aims to support employee well-being, work-life balance, and family time.
The policy aligns with the UAE’s ‘Year of Community’ campaign and reflects a growing trend in the region toward flexible and people-focused work environments.

Ajman’s Human Resources Department will manage the implementation and track its effects. A detailed evaluation report is expected by September 2025, focusing on how the summer policy impacts:
- Government performance
- Employee satisfaction
- Community well-being
The results will help decide whether similar seasonal work models should be adopted in the future.
This new summer framework marks a progressive step in workplace reform for Ajman, putting employee health and productivity at the centre of government planning.
