Travelers passing through Saudi Arabia will soon have a new shopping experience! The Public Investment Fund (PIF) has launched Al Waha Duty-Free, the country’s first locally owned duty-free retail operator. This move aims to expand travel shopping options while contributing to the national economy.
Al Waha Duty-Free will open stores in major airports and is also planning to extend its presence to land borders, seaports, and even inflight shopping. Passengers can expect a mix of high-end international brands and premium Saudi products, making their travel experience more convenient and exciting.
This launch is part of Saudi Arabia’s larger vision to grow its travel and tourism sector. PIF is already investing heavily in projects like King Salman International Airport in Riyadh, which is set to become one of the world’s busiest airports, welcoming up to 120 million passengers per year.
Saudi Arabia is also expanding its presence in global air travel with Riyadh Air, a new airline aiming to position Riyadh as a key international hub. On top of that, projects like the Red Sea Cruise Company are helping turn the country’s coastline into a top tourist destination.
With Al Waha Duty-Free and these other major developments, Saudi Arabia is set to offer travelers more shopping, tourism, and flight options than ever before.
