Drivers in Al Ain should plan ahead as a section of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street will be partially closed for one month, according to Abu Dhabi’s transport authority. The closure begins at 12 AM on Saturday, February 1, and will last until Saturday, March 1. During this period, traffic will be rerouted to the opposite side of the road to ensure a steady flow of vehicles.

This is not the first road adjustment in the area this year. In January, authorities also announced a temporary closure on Hazza bin Sultan Street from January 19 to July 17.

Additionally, truck drivers were given updated guidelines on evening restrictions for heavy vehicles. These changes aim to improve road safety and manage traffic flow across Abu Dhabi. The emirate has also introduced new laws and regulations in 2025, covering areas such as traffic, business, and residency rules.

Temporary road closures in Al Ain are part of a broader effort to enhance traffic management and ensure safer roads for all drivers. If you’re traveling through Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street in the next month, allow extra time for your journey and follow traffic signs for diversions. For more details, visit admobility.gov.ae.
