Futuristic underground transport system by Elon Musk’s Boring Company is coming to Dubai sooner than we thought. According to the UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, Dubai Loop is expected to be operational by 2026.

A 17km underground network will move people swiftly and efficiently around the city. With 11 stations planned, it will be capable of carrying more than 20,000 passengers per hour, significantly easing congestion and providing a fast alternative to traditional transport.

Dubai Loop will use tunnels to connect different parts of the city, allowing people to travel quickly and easily. The tunnels will be equipped with pods that can reach speeds of up to 160 km/hour, providing an ultra-fast way to get around. Musk described the experience as feeling like going through a “wormhole” to another part of the city in an instant.

Musk’s Boring Company has already built an underground transit system in Las Vegas, and Dubai Loop could be a similar step toward innovative city travel.

This update comes as Dubai continues to introduce cutting-edge transport ideas, including previously announced Rail Bus and Seaglider, and flying taxis already soaring in the sky. With Dubai Loop becoming a reality in 2026, the city is looking toward a future where getting around will be faster and more efficient.
