Dubai, another great dining concept coming! Chef Neha Mishra, the woman behind beloved Japanese restaurant Kinoya, is set to open a brand-new dining spot with Atelier House Hospitality. This time, she’s focusing on temaki — hand-rolled sushi — offering a fresh and interactive dining experience. The temaki bar is expected to open in the third quarter of 2025, though the name and exact location remain under wraps for now.

The new venture will shine a spotlight on temaki. Known for its crisp seaweed wrap and fresh fillings, temaki is best enjoyed immediately after being made. Guests will have the chance to engage with chefs as they prepare each roll. The venue will also feature a hidden speakeasy-style bar with a specialized selection of cocktails.
The concept for the new temaki bar sparked from a casual celebration. Last year, Neha hosted a birthday gathering at home, featuring a DIY temaki spread. The next day, she received a call from her friend Panchali Mahendra, CEO of Atelier House Hospitality, who said, ‘I love those temaki’s, let’s open a place.’ And just like that, the idea took off, paving the way for this exciting new venture.

Neha Mishra’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. In 2021, she opened Kinoya in Dubai’s Onyx Tower — a move that paid off, as reservations became nearly impossible to snag. The restaurant has since earned recognition from the Michelin Guide’s Bib Gourmand list and MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants. She even expanded Kinoya’s reach to London’s prestigious Harrods.
This upcoming temaki bar promises to be different from Kinoya, offering a more interactive and immersive way to enjoy Japanese cuisine. While details are still emerging, one thing is certain — Dubai’s food scene is in for another exciting addition from one of its most celebrated chefs.
