Abu Dhabi is adding a soulful note to its cultural calendar with a special tribute concert for Quincy Jones, happening on April 29 at The Black Box at NYU Abu Dhabi. Part of the Abu Dhabi Festival 2025, the event pays homage to the legendary jazz musician and producer, aligning with this year’s designation of Abu Dhabi as the Global Host City for UNESCO’s International Jazz Day.
The concert will feature Riley Mulherkar, a rising name in the jazz scene, performing alongside The Westerlies, a brass quartet known for blending classical technique with a modern jazz edge. Together, they’ll perform selections from Mulherkar’s debut album “Riley,” as well as compositions inspired by — and in tribute to — Quincy Jones.

This event carries extra significance as it honours both UNESCO’s International Jazz Day and Quincy Jones’ lasting impact on the global music industry. A longtime friend of the Abu Dhabi Festival, Quincy Jones was previously awarded the ADF Award in 2014. The 2025 tribute comes a year after his passing and stands as a fitting celebration of his contribution to music and culture.
Tickets are available now starting at AED 132 per person via Platinumlist, and with the concert forming a core part of the Abu Dhabi Festival and International Jazz Day celebrations, it’s expected to be a popular night out.
